Course Objectives:

The course aims to teach the basic methods of digital photography and video production. It aims to create a basic theoretical and practical basis to support and develop the creativity of the student by having basic knowledge in the field of producing digital photographs and video images.

Course Content:

The course includes learning basic photography and video techniques and terminology, applying basic design principles in photography, analyzing basic texts in the field. The application is included in the course and students are expected to research and shoot for their homework and share their work in short presentations. Theoretical information will be conveyed to students by supporting them with visual examples from the history of photography and video art.

Ders Akış Planı

1)	General course presentation. Information about the course and its presentation. Short history of the photo.
2)	Features and use of the camera. How does the camera work? What is diaphragm and curtain (shutter)? Why do we need both?
3)	Camera and lens selection. Homework.
4)	Homework criticism.	Students are expected to shoot according to the homework given before coming to class.
5)	Composition in the photo. Homework.
6)	Homework criticism. Continue to the composition in the photo.	Students are expected to shoot according to the homework given before coming to class.
7)	Light and directions in photography. Homework.
8)	Midterm. (Check the exam date.)
9)	Homework criticism. Introduction to basic image processing in Photoshop.
10)	Basic image processing, resolution settings, area selection, color editing in Photoshop.	Students are expected to shoot according to the homework given before coming to class.
11)	Using a video camera. Homework.
12)	Homework criticism.	Students are expected to shoot according to the homework given before coming to class.
13)	Introduction to producing video images.
14)	Presentation and homework.
15)	Presentation and homework criticism.
16)	Final exam. (Check the exam date.)
