Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to enable students to recognize famous theorists who have theoretical studies in the field of cinema, to understand the approaches of these theorists and to have a basic knowledge about film genres.
Course Content: This course, which is an introduction to basic cinema theories and film genres, is designed to provide students with a basic knowledge of film theory and film genres by examining the approaches of important theorists who analyze film form and its social functions. In the course, texts written by important film theorists will be examined and discussed, film genres will be discussed, and a movie that represents a genre and is related to each theoretical approach will be screened.
