Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The aim of the course is to teach the basic techniques and principles of fiction and to emphasize how fiction shapes a visual communication design product.
Course Content: Film and Video Editing course is a theoretical and practical course that teaches how to combine plans into each other during a video or movie shoot and the techniques used during this merging phase.

Ders Akış Planı

Week Subject Related Preparation
1) What is fiction, why is fiction made? What is the role of the editor in filmmaking? Introduction to the lesson. Preliminary readings on the topics
2) Historical development of film editing: Kuleshov, Eisenstein, Pudovkin, Griffith Reading about topics and watching movies
3) Reviews on films. The establishment of filmic time and filmic space. An overview of the interface of the Adobe Premiere software.Dec. Reading about topics and watching movies.
4) Project and sequence settings. Resolution, number of frames, codec information. Preliminary readings on the topics
5) Introduction to simple editing: In-out editing, Overwrite edit, insert edit, razor blade Preliminary work on the program.
6) The 180 degree rule. Continuity. Setting up an example scene. Reading about topics and watching movies
7) Working with multiple video and audio channels. Transition effects and text animations. Preliminary work on the program.
8) MIDTERM EXAM Preliminary readings on the topics
9) Jump Cut, Continuity fiction, Parallel fiction (cross-fiction) Video effects, Chroma keying Readings on topics and preliminary work on the program
10) Color Correction and Grading Preliminary work on the program.
11) Audio editing and mixing, noise cleaning (sound filters), sound transitions Preliminary work on the program.
12) Editing a multi-camera image Preliminary work on the program.
13) Output and transcode video files, codecs Preliminary work on the program.
14) Editing of final projects Preliminary work on the program.
15) FINAL EXAM Studies related to the subjects
