Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The aim of lesson; to gain the ability to evaluate so that they can develop a critical view towards new media.
Course Content: It focuses on the stage reached with new media as the newest medium of mass communication with its speed, participatory structure and power of influence. It includes the acquisition of new media literacy competence by considering the diversity and changing content offered by the new media through examples.

2) Gains the theoretical background related to the field of communication sciences.
3) Theoretical knowledge acquired in the field of new media and communication, it produces innovative and creative solutions by gaining the ability to associate it with practice.
4) Follows the developments in his field, develops original scientific analyzes by producing rational ideas for current and possible problems.
5) By closely monitoring national and international problems, have the awareness of raising awareness about social problems and uses this competence for scientific studies in his field.
6) By using a foreign language at least at the European Language Portfolio B1 General Level, acquires international knowledge in communication sciences and new media, follows researches and shares with colleagues.
7) Field oriented; uses "European Computer Driving License - Advanced" computer software and new communication technologies.
8) His/her competence in new media and communications, it evaluates it in the context of generating new ideas by integrating it with a critical and questioning approach and gains awareness of lifelong learning.
9) By following the media; learn to compare, evaluate and interpret news; thus, it analyzes the changes and transformations in the field of journalism in a social context.
10) Regarding the field; follows innovations, internalizes ethical principles and gains awareness of professional responsibility.
11) Understands the role and effectiveness of new media and communication technologies, researches the social and cultural effects of new media by producing projects.
