Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The course aims to take the creativity of the student to a higher level with the theoretical and practical knowledge of the student who is at the basic level of producing digital photographs and video images. It aims to develop the ability to convey an idea, emotion or information to the audience with a fixed and moving image in line with his personal perspective and approach.
Course Content: The course covers the solution of visual communication design problems with photography and video, interpretation of artists' works and basic texts in the field. By including the application in the course, students are also expected to produce series of photographs and videos that will contribute to the development of their personal approach towards the solution of the design problem. In the course, students will be given theoretical information, supported by visual examples from the history of photography and video.

1) Has knowledge about basic photo and video production techniques and can apply them.

Ders Akış Planı

Week Subject Related Preparation
1) General course presentation. Course operation and presentation.
2) How to develop a photography project? Determining the artist presentation list that students will make during the semester.
3) Artist presentation. Evaluation of students' project proposals. Students are expected to have developed a project proposal before coming to the lesson.
4) Artist presentation.
5) Processing of images produced by students in the homework in the program of photoshop, color editing, use of filters, selection of areas, collage. Students are expected to shoot in accordance with the homework given before class and bring them in RAW format.
6) Indirect and Symbolic Expression in Photography. Evaluating the project shootings of the students. Students are expected to shoot and bring in RAW format in line with the assignment given before coming to the class.
7) Artist presentation. Processing the images produced by students in line with the project in Photoshop, color editing, filter use, area selection, collage. Students are expected to shoot according to the homework given before coming to class.
8) Midterm exam. (Check the exam date.)
9) Birth and development of video technology.
10) Artist presentation. Determination of final projects.
11) Pioneers of video art.
12) Processing of videos produced by students according to homework in After Effects, application of keyframes. Students are expected to shoot in the direction of the given homework and bring the videos to the lesson before coming to class.
13) Processing of videos produced by students according to homework in After Effects, application of keyframes.
14) Evaluation of student projects. Students are expected to shoot in line with the assignment given before coming to the class and to bring the videos to the class.
15) Final exam.
