Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: Students who have mastered the historical development of civil defense and civil protection should have practical knowledge about protection methods against CBRN incidents.
Course Content: Definition and historical development of civil defense, Civil protection, Definition of chemical warfare, general distinction of chemical warfare agents, Personal cleansing from chemical warfare agents, Definition and properties of biological warfare agents, Signs of radiation, Main principles and measures to be taken in protection from radiation, Differences between nuclear weapons and classical weapons differences, Atomic and hydrogen bombs, Effects of nuclear weapons, Warning alert signs, bunkers, concealment and blackout

1) To define the concept of Civil Defense and to learn its development in the historical process.
2) Learning the content of the concept of Civil Protection and understanding what it covers
3) Learning the concept of chemical warfare and examining the materials used in chemical warfare
4) Learning the definition of biological warfare agents and examining their properties
5) Learning the definition of radiation and examining its properties
6) Learning the main principles to be applied in radiation protection and taking precautions
7) Examining nuclear weapons and classical weapons and learning the differences between them.
8) Examining the properties of atomic and hydrogen bombs and learning the differences between them.
9) To learn the effects of nuclear weapons today
