Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to give information about the Turkish field in painting lessons.
Course Content: As the course content, the general framework of the Turkish art history course; Examines and scrutinizes Turkish painting art from the recent past to the present.

1) Comprehend pre-Islamic Turkish Painting, have an idea about pre-Islamic Turkish painting, comprehend the development of post-Islamic Turkish painting, be aware of the developments in post-Islamic Turkish painting. Recognizes important figures in Turkish painting after Islam.
2) Understands the miniature art of the Ottoman period, understands the concept of miniature painting in the period of Fatih Sultan Mehmet. Recognizes the miniature painting after Fatih. Comprehends the state of Turkish Painting Art in its renewal and development phases.
3) Recognize the Turkish art of painting in the Tanzimat period. Recognizes orientalist painting. Comprehends the establishment of Sanayii Nefise School and Osman Hamdi Bey's influence and contribution to art. Comprehends the 1914 Generation painters and their art.
4) Recognize the new painting tradition that started with the Republic of Turkey. Understands the Association of Independent Painters and Sculptors and the understanding of art. Group D recognizes artists and their understanding of painting.
5) Recognizes Yeniler Group and their understanding of art. Comprehends the place and importance of Abstract Art in Turkish painting. Realizes the developments in Turkish art after 1950.

1) Evaluation of the scope and area dimensions of the history of Turkish painting. Readings on the subject
2) To reveal the functions of the Turks in the Central Asian dimensions in the history of Turkish Painting. Readings on the topic
3) To reveal the artistic dimensions of figurative tendencies and orientations in the history of Turkish Painting in line with its pre-Islamic identity. Readings on the topic
4) Focusing on the meaning and development of the art of painting in the old Turks. Readings on the topic
5) Examination and evaluation of the reality of Turkish painting art in the dimensions of the post-Islamic development period. Readings on the topic
6) Evaluation and comparison of Ottoman period miniature and modern painting art. Readings on the topic
7) Artistic environment of Tanzimat and reconsideration of art in line with this environment. Readings on the topic
8) MIDTERM EXAM
