Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: To analyze the content of the artwork by considering the relationship between the signifier, the signified and the sign in the artwork. Analyzing the relationship of signs with belief and doctrine by investigating expressions arising from inter-object positioning. To consider the socio-cultural-political effects of the period in the analysis of the artwork. To be able to read iconographically for all kinds of works of art.
Course Content: Mythological and iconographic elements, which are still frequently referred to in studies in the field of art and design, are found in many different cultures of the world. Within the scope of the course, the mythological and iconographic works of various cultures in the historical process will be examined and their reflections in art and design will be conveyed.
