Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The aim of the course is to enable the students to have knowledge about the development of Turkish foreign policy within the framework of the changing national and international system and the formation process and actors of the Turkish foreign policy in particular and to reach the ability to analyze and develop comments.
Course Content: In Turkish Foreign Policy I course, historical and conceptual analysis of Turkish foreign policy, as well as concrete events, areas and countries will be examined the attitude and position. Turkey's policy towards the location of these developments with developments in the international system since the last century of the Ottoman Empire will be examined. The effects of national and international actors and dynamics that play a role in these processes will be examined. Analysis of Foreign Policy and Turkish Foreign Policy; The End of the Ottoman Empire and its Impact on Turkish Foreign Policy; 1919-1923: Foreign Policy of the National Struggle Period; Turkish Foreign Policy in 1923-1939 Period; Turkish Foreign Policy in the 1939-1945 Period, Turkish Foreign Policy in the Period of 1945-1960; 1960-1980 Period Turkish Foreign Policy Turkey's Middle East policy, Turkey's Caucasus policy of the Armenian issue, the Cyprus problem and beginning to today Analysis of developments in Turkey-EU relations.
