Course Objectives: | To introduce students to the basic approaches, subjects and readings in the field of comparative politics. |
Course Content: | Comparative politics is a sub-branch of political science, where international relations and political theory are intertwined on many levels. It gives students the ability to understand and discuss different political systems, institutions and actors in a global context. This course is designed to introduce an introduction to the main concepts and tools of comparative politics. In this direction, the course will start with an introduction to the field and method of comparative politics, and will examine political regimes, political culture, political parties and electoral systems, civil society, and finally examine governmental systems and political economy. |
