Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: In order to prevent work accidents and occupational diseases at workplaces and to ensure that employees work in a healthy and safety enviroment, acquiring competencies in taking safety precautions.
Course Content: Definition and history of occupational health and safety, occurrence and types of work accidents, occupational diseases and ways of protection, işyerlerinde iş kazalarını ve meslek hastalıklarını önlemek ve çalışanların sağlıklı ve güvenli bir ortamda çalışmalarını sağlamak için yapılacak çalışmaları ve güvenlik önlemlerinin alınması ile ilgili yeterlilikler, physical, chemical, biological, psycho-social risk factors and ways of protection from them,
the responsibility, rights, obligations and authorities of the employer, the employees, the occupational health and safety professionals, risk assessment, ergonomics, OHSAS 18000 Occupational Health and Safety Management System issues are explained.

1) Be able to learn the definition and history of occupational health and safety.
2) To explain the problems encountered in the related application with occupational health and safety in the world and Turkey.
3) To be able to learn OHSAS 18000 Occupational Health and Safety Management System and its phases.
4) To have a comprehension of ergonomics.
5) Learning the importance of emergency management.

Program Outcomes
1) To have knowledge and practice about basic theories and principles of communication, visual communication, design and graphic design
2) To be able to criticise and evaluate applications related to graphic design and graphical communication
3) To have a theoretical and practical infrastructure related to the field and able to solve any visual design problem
4) To be able to create contemporary, effective visual expression language in design, to observe, understand and question changes in social and cultural structure
5) Be able to develop advertising campaigns and concepts in advertising agencies, design studios, companies' advertising departments
6) Be able to reveal creative, original, contemporary and aesthetic graphic design products and projects
7) Be able to present and demonstrate projects and gain practical experience
8) Be able to produce design applications in computer environment to graphic software
9) To follow changing communication and design viewpoints, to develop professional knowledge and skills
