Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The aim of this course; By comprehending the established basic principles of art and design, to contribute to the development of the skills of thinking basic design principles together with abstract concepts, visual communication design techniques and solving design problems.
Course Content: Basic principles and elements of page layout, composition and visual communication design; blocking, copying, reduction and matting-mounting techniques; It covers topics such as equipment usage techniques, design and artistic knowledge acquisition in line with visual communication design, and theoretical and applied research of basic art and design concepts and principles.

3) Being able to distinguish the details of environmental visual sources, applying natural and artificial sourced objects in light-dark/light-shadow drawing techniques, and transferring natural and artificial sourced forms to the design process, depending on detail and observation aptitude.
4) To be able to gain the ability to create original surfaces and forms by exemplifying composition creation methods.

Week Subject Related Preparation
1) Introduction to Basic Design (introducing basic terms and concepts, giving information about history, tools and materials) Examination of examples from the history of art and today on the subjects
2) Introduction to Basic Principles and Elements of Design (design, composition and types of composition, Gestalt Theory, Form-Ground Expressions, introduction of entropic order concepts, introduction of point-line concepts and types, examination of examples from art history and Pointillism movement, design with point-line subject, reinforcing the concepts of order and composition with practices) Examination of examples from the history of art and today on the subjects
3) Design Principles and Composition Elements (dot-line surface research in different techniques; reinforcing point-line concepts and types, design and composition concepts with applications) Examination of examples from the history of art and today on the subjects
4) Examination of Examples from Art History and Contemporary Art Made with Dot-Line in the Scope of Design Principles and Composition Elements (based on these examples, reproduction applications, and from reproductions, original application studies with new interpretations and arrangements) Examination of examples from the history of art and today on the subjects
5) Dot-Line Applications from Natural and Artificial Forms Examination of examples from the history of art and today on the subjects
6) Introduction of Light-Dark/Light-Shadow and Tone Concepts, Factors Changing the Form of Shadow, Types of Light and Examining the Viewpoint (examination of examples from the history of art, different scanning techniques in light-dark/light-shadow and charcoal and dry paint techniques, tone values and tone bar application) Examination of examples from the history of art and today on the subjects
7) Three-Dimensional Volumeization of Light-Dark/Light-Shadow Grades and Geometric Shapes Depending on Different Light Sources Examination of examples from the history of art and today on the subjects
