Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: The aim of this course is to enable students to acquire the fundamental professional knowledge, skills, and competencies required in the field of internet and network technologies. The course aims to provide practical experience in the installation, configuration, management, and basic troubleshooting processes of computer networks. Students are expected to be able to identify network devices, establish wired and wireless network infrastructures, configure basic network services, and implement network security applications. Furthermore, the course aims to develop professional competencies necessary for working life, such as professional ethics, occupational health and safety, technical documentation preparation, teamwork, effective communication, and a customer-oriented service approach. Throughout the course, students will learn to effectively use commonly used hardware, software, and management tools in the sector by keeping up with current internet and network technologies. By the end of the course, students are expected to possess the knowledge, skills, and sense of responsibility to analyze and solve technical problems they may encounter in the field of internet and network technologies, and to work in accordance with professional standards.
Course Content: Professional development and work culture in the IT sector
Basic concepts of internet and network technologies
Introduction to computer hardware, network devices and peripherals
Network cabling standards, cabling applications and termination procedures
TCP/IP protocol, IP addressing and basic network configurations
Installation, configuration and management of local area networks (LANs)
Wireless network technologies and wireless network setup
Basic configuration of router and switch devices
Configure of internet services, DNS, DHCP and basic network services
Network security, firewall, access control and basic cybersecurity applications
Network monitoring, performance analysis and basic troubleshooting methods
Introduction to virtualization and cloud computing technologies
Technical documentation preparation, reporting and professional communication skills
Professional ethics, occupational health and safety, teamwork and applied network project work

1) Professional development, the structure of the IT sector, professional ethics, and occupational health and safety.
2) Fundamental concepts of internet and network technologies, network types, and network architectures.
3) Computer hardware, network devices (routers, switches, access points, modems), and their operating principles.
4) Network cabling standards, cabling components, termination, and testing procedures.
5) TCP/IP protocol, OSI reference model, IP addressing, and subnetting.
6) Setting up Local Area Networks (LANs), basic network configurations, and using network services.
7) Wireless networking technologies, Wi-Fi standards, Access Point setup, and wireless network security.
8) Basic configuration and network management for routers and switches.
9) Setup and management of DHCP, DNS, NAT, VPN, and other essential network services.
10) Network security, firewalls, access control, basic cybersecurity practices, and security policies.
11) Network monitoring, performance analysis, basic fault detection, and troubleshooting methods.
12) Virtualization technologies, cloud computing fundamentals, and remote system administration.
13) Technical documentation preparation, project development, teamwork, and customer relationship management.
14) Developing applied network projects, general evaluation, and professional competency applications.

3) As an individual who has access to professional ethics awareness social, cultural, and social responsibility concept, gains the ability to adopt.
4) Benefit from todays emerging technologies in the field and office work, to adapt to innovation, lifelong learning and access to information gained consciousness and gains information on sustainable development.
5) Having knowledge of classical mapmaking methods, they will be able to effectively use computer-aided mapmaking and other CAD applications.
6) They will possess sufficient knowledge and practical skills in property rights-based matters such as cadastral surveys, expropriation, and land consolidation.
7) They will possess sufficient knowledge and skills in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), including digitizing cadastral maps, transferring them to a computer environment, and researching and collecting all spatially based data.
8) In field applications, team coordination is ensured, necessary detail points are drawn up in sketches, and the ability to work harmoniously within the field group is fostered.
9) They will gain knowledge about mapmaking using photogrammetry and remote sensing methods.
10) They gain knowledge about the characteristics, valuation methods, and legal status of real estate assets.
11) Taking into account urban development, collect the necessary data relating to real estate, analyze, evaluate and manage.
12) The public institutions that work related to surveying and private sectors shrink as difficulty in adapting knowledge of organizational structures.
13) Map of doing the necessary work to be done in the field, make the required measurements in accordance with various mapping techniques collects attribute information regarding the details of the measure.
14) Urban development, taking into account, collect the necessary data relating to real estate, analyze, evaluate and manage.
15) They possess the ability to work independently and have the self-confidence to take on disciplined responsibilities.
16) With an awareness of the necessity of lifelong learning, it strives to follow scientific and technological developments and to constantly update itself.
