Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: Students taking the course are expected:
• To understand how the crisis could occur and effect an organization and its stakeholders,
• To gain the skills which help to determine the possible crisis management strategies and communicate them with the related parties,
• To be able to make an assessment on the effectiveness of the crisis management process.
Course Content: This course is an introduction to the internationalization of the public relations and communication process. Students would have a knowledge of the situations defined as crisis, its reasons, features, types and processes, how it could be managed before, after and during its occurence, how it could be organized, re-enginering, reputation, risk and problem management, proactive and reactive approaches through theoretical information and sample cases. They would also gain the information and skills of how a crisis management could be communicated both inside and outside through a good public relation.

1) Students would have a knowledge of - Crisis definitions, reasons and features - Crisis types and processes - Crisis management strategies before, after and crisis time and organization models fitting with them - Re-engineering, reputation management, risk management and problem management and the differences between them -Proactive and reactive approaches what and how it is - Importance of a communication for a better crisis managemnet and how a good public relation coud be structured

1) Students - Develop enterprise risk management policies and business continuity plans to be ready for the manufacturing crisis steming from the natural disasters. - Make an analysis for the competitor firms. - Gain the skills of how a better public relation could be during the crisis times.

1) Students - Gain insight into the management of crisis communication, reputation and risk. - Become a competent practitioner in his own field earning the knowledge of academic and applied information on marketing communication after achieving the complimentary courses advanced level. - Can analyze case studies provided on the field of marketing communication. - Gain academic and applied knowledge related to the marketing communication and become the master of its basic and critical perspectives. - Complete the portfolio preperations to add appropriate human resource for the marketing sector after earning necessary qualifications on marketing communication and gain field experience. - Carry out academic studies which would make a contribution to the marketing communication independently or as a member of group.
