Dersin Amaç ve İçeriği

Course Objectives: This course provides an overview of the various types of translation, exploring their unique characteristics, challenges, and best practices. Students will gain a solid understanding of the different categories of translation, including literary, technical, legal, and cultural translation. Through theoretical discussions, practical exercises, and case studies, students will develop the ability to identify and analyze different translation types and apply appropriate strategies for each.
Course Content: Basic translation terms (equivalence, translation strategy, text types etc.); translation exercises on informative texts, news texts, technical texts and social science texts

4) Students will have a full understanding of the cultures of languages as well as a general knowledge at national and international levels.
5) Students will use the latest information and translation technologies for translation and interpretation practices.
6) Students will transfer the written audio and visual source texts to the target language regarding the demands of employee, peculiarities of the source texts, field language and local language.
7) Students will express their ideas orally and in writing in interdisciplinary studies with different fields of expertise.
